Tryout update and important information
Hello everyone. The players dug deep and had a gritty tryout session late tonight. They should be proud of their hard work. We will not be posting a final roster before Thursday evening 8 p.m.

It is important that players and their families understand and will participate fully in the plan moving forward. This will ensure a great experience for all. Please read the details below. Should you have questions or require clarification, please contact us today (Thursday).

This is a competitive, rep hockey team. We will be on the ice 3 to 4 times weekly, and expect to have two practices weekly. We are still exploring ice options for that second practice so more will be added to the team calendar.

The team will compete in 4 tournaments this year, also posted on the team calendar, in October (St. Catharines), November (Cambridge), January (London, Hawks Tourney) and early February (Quebec City Carnaval). Anticipating additional costs with the February event, we will not book a fifth tournament which would have been played over the Christmas holidays. We will not be holding any mandatory team events over the holiday period - enjoy the time with your families. The Quebec trip will likely involve leaving London on Wednesday morning of that week. We have priced out a coach bus for the team, and believe the cost would be comparable to a van's gas bill for the trip. The bus can carry the player and two additional family members.

We may see action March break so parents need to check with the coach before making plans. Typically the league tries to avoid games during the weekdays and one weekend. More information will be available later in September.

The Hawks will play an interlocking schedule with teams from the East bracket Burlington, Hamilton, Waterloo, as well as Sarnia and North London from the West bracket. When the Bandits and Oakridge announced they were unable to field teams, our interlocking schedule expanded so that we will now play each team twice, one home and one away. The clubs booked most games on weekends to reduce the impact on academics. This has resulted on most games being scheduled on weekends. Please check the calendar from September to March to understand the time commitment.

Thank you for your interest in joining the Hawks Minor Midget team.
