Absent Read and Chick, Hawks Drop 5-2 Decision to Bandits
The Hawks were down two men on Saturday with wingers Cole Chick and Zach Read missing in action and off attending to personal business. Further, blueliner Noah Weber was less than 100% fighting off what trainer Liam Walsh described as, "the mother of all colds." Despite the more than able efforts of minor league call ups Miles Peterkin and Caden Nielsen, the Hawks weren't able to overcome the absence of their grinding duo and Weber's ailment and fell 5-2 to the Bandits D6.

Truthfully, the Hawks dominated most of the play but were stymied time and time again by the Bandits' all-star goaltender who was in top form. The only Hawks who managed to break through were Callum Knapp and Matt DiCicco, who scored in the second and third periods respectively. DiCicco's goal was a memorable one. As Pyper Baker stepped into a shot from the point, the power forward maneuvered himself to screen the goalie. when he realized he couldn't deflect the shot with his stick he deftly stuck his rear end out and redirected Baker's laser into the back of the net.

Better luck next time Hawks!
