We have a game on Sunday that falls within the dates!
CHL - Silent Sidelines
Week: Oct 17-23, 2015
The Third week in
October 2015 (October 17-23, 2015) is Silent Sidelines Week!
Helping parents and coaches learn the value
of quiet support for their children’s sports games. The CHL is pleased to
provide this opportunity for the 2015-2016 Hockey Season.
Why can this make a difference?
With the sidelines quiet, players have the chance to make their own split-second decisions on the ice and learn by them, instead of being distracted by the stream of noise that usually exists. The kids on the ice get the opportunity to communicate with one another, deciding who will do what … who will get the puck and pass to whom …. this is a much better learning opportunity for the kids.
The Rules:
1. Cheering allowed for all plays & efforts made by players.
2. No shouting from the Coaching staff at the players during play.
3. No shouting at the referees during the game.
4. No shouting from the spectators at the players.
5. Coaches “coach” the players between shifts & periods.
Supporters are allowed the clap and cheer to show their enthusiasm but adults/coaches are restricted from coaching their players during the play. Coaches can however instruct them on the bench between shifts referring to the plays they just completed or the plays of their teammates currently on the ice.
