Welcome to West C6 Major Peewee!
Team C6 Major PeeWee

Welcome to the start of another season of great hockey!

It looks like our roster is set and we are able to get down to the business of having another fun season.   With this in mind the coaching staff would like to share some information with you to help ensure that we get the most out of our time together and to provide the best environment for our players.

Practice

Please ensure that you are at the rink 30 minutes before it is time to hit the ice.

Practice ice time is valuable to the development of the players and we want to maximize the time.  Generally our practices will be a day before game day which gives the coaches an opportunity to work on skills and strategies in preparation of our next opponent.

If you cannot make it to practice please send Mike a quick email letting him know so that the practice can be properly planned.

Game Day

Our players continue to mature and become more self-sufficient each year.  The ask for game days is that players arrive to the dressing room at least 35 minutes before game time.  This will allow the proper time for your player to get himself ready for the game.

The kids are at the age where they need to be dressing themselves rather than the parents doing it for them.  Our goal is not only to teach hockey on the ice, but how to be a responsible hockey player off the ice.

If skates need to be tied by a parent please have this task completed 15 minutes before game time.  This will allow the coaches time with players only in the dressing room to discuss lines, game strategies, and to get the players mind ready to play.

After the game we ask that you remain outside the dressing room so that the coaches can recap the game with the players.  This is a chance while it is top of mind to review the opportunities and the strengths of the team during play.

Once the door is open you are welcome to join us to celebrate, but please have your player undress and pack up their gear as much as possible.

Tournaments

An exciting part of every season is being able to play in tournaments and this year we have registered for two.
1.       North London Blue & White November 20-22, 2015
2.       Bradford Bulldogs Blue & Gold Classic January 15-17, 2016

Please let Jeff Topping know if you are unable to attend any of the tournaments.
