NotesGreat game by the whole team. It looked to be a daunting task playing a HUGE 2004/2005 mixed Chicago team before the puck dropped.
Rizzo stood tall in the opening period, facing more rubber than a Leaf goaltender...keeping us in the game. After spotting them a 3-0 lead, our guys battled hard, and tied it up with 5 minutes to play...creating a frenzy in the stands.
But it wasn't to be the Cinderella ending this time. Although we had a few good chances to grab the lead in the dying minutes, the Chargers players grabbed a loose puck with less than a minute to go and buried the winner.
We have nothing to be ashamed of in this tournament, other than some misplaced hockey gear, an alarm clock that didn't function as intended, and some lack-lustre poker talent (and I DID break even, by the way....).
I think everyone had a great time...and we're all counting the days until CUJO. Hope everyone arrived home safe.
