This past week, Hockey Canada released the new Dressing Room Policy which will be used in conjunction with
the Ontario Hockey Federation’s existing Dressing Room Policy from the 2016 Human Rights mediation.
The core principles of the Hockey Canada Dressing Room Policy are contained in the OHF Dressing Room
Policy. Please continue to use the OHF Dressing Room Policy over the upcoming weekend.
The OHF will provide out an updated OHF Dressing Room Policy and other affected policies early next
week
The OHF will be hosting 3 more Education Sessions on Gender Inclusion in Hockey including a
presentation on the Policy changes. Please sign up for one of the following dates by clicking one of the links below:
Friday, October 13 @ 1:30 PM EST
Monday, October 23 @ 6:30 PM EST
Wednesday, November 1 @ 6:30 PM EST
The OHF understands that unique to Ontario, the Hockey Canada Dressing Room Policy is not simple to
implement with the existing OHF Dressing Room Policy approved by the Human Rights Mediation. The
expectation is that you attend an education session on Gender Inclusion in Hockey.
New concepts and practices require an open mind, time, a willingness to ask questions, and patience to
ensure successful implementation. It is not our expectation that everything will be perfect in the
implementation of the changes to the policies, but it is critically important to be respectful and if mistakes
are made, they are addressed with sincerity
