HL - Minor Bantam - 27, 2018-2019, HL-U15 (West London Minor Hockey)

The West London Minor Bantam Hawks #27 had a great year, finishing the regular season on top of the league and beating the top seeded team from Oakridge 4-3 in overtime to reach the finals. Unfortunately, however, the Cinderella season didn't finish with a Hollywood ending as the Hawks lost to their associational rivals, West London #17, 4-0.

The West London Hawks Minor Bantam #27 were missing five players Sunday night: #9, Cole Chick, Jack Churney, Brendan Walsh, and Noah Weber. You might think the team would have tired and lacked energy on the ice, but on the contrary, the Hawks dug deep and with the help of two PeeWee call-ups and the shutout goaltending provided by Zach Read, the Hawks romped to a 7-0 victory.

In the nearly $56 million confines of Bostwick Arena, the West London Hawks Minor Bantam #27 squeaked out a win Sunday night defeating the North London Nationals #17 4-3.

The West London Hawks Minor Bantam #27 had an excellent tournament in Orillia on Family Day weekend going 3-1 and qualifying for the finals despite playing against teams featuring a mixture of kids born in 2004 and 2005, whereas the Hawks are a team of entirely 2005 kids. Unfortunately, however, they ran into a very strong team from Bradford in the final and dropped the championship match 4-2. 

The West London Hawks did not have their best game on Sunday night against West London #37, nor did they turn in their finest effort of the season in tonight's tilt against Oakridge Aeros #27. But what they did do in both games was find a way to win, and that's all that matters in the standings.
