The Morning Before Christmas Eve
'Twas the Morning before Christmas Eve, when all through the rink
The KnightHawks were ready, they were completely in sync
Their jerseys were hung, in the locker room with care
In the hopes that a victory, soon would be theirs
The team filed out, straight onto the ice
In warmup their passes were crisp and precise

Coach Liam in his jacket, Coach Geoff in his cap
Coach Dwayne apparently, was taking a nap
When out on the ice, there arose such a clatter
Coaches Chris and Adam rushed to check on the matter
Into the slot Zoe Read moved with a dash
And fired a shot, as quick as a flash
The KnightHawks were up by Read's timely score
And the KnightHawks were hungry for a little bit more
And what to the crowd's wondering eyes should appear
But Jack Peterkin moving up the ice like a deer
He cut to his left, he cut to his right
And the KnightHawks were up 2-0 - it was pure delight!
But more rapid than eagles, the opposition scored
Coach Liam rallied his team, and their spirits soared
Now Askew, now Schafer, Keating and Nielsen
On Hayes on! Steele, on! Miles and Devlin
Inspired, Owen Askew took the puck to the top of the slot
And scored goal #3 with a blistering shot!
But the referees wanted to make the KnightHawks try
To overcome obstacles that piled to the sky
And so they gave Aiden Hayes a penalty, I think it was tripping
But the KnightHawks' resolve, never was slipping
They killed the penalty, they did so with verve
Kaelen Walsh made saves, and the team held its nerve
The third period began, the KnightHawks up by two
And Anderson Watt knew there was more work to do
So he struck a one-timer from high at the point
He scored his first goal, and broke up the joint
The refs tried again, to steal the team's thunder
And Nicolis got two minutes, for his tripping blunder
The team pressed hard, Connor put his friends on his back
And scored goal #5, thereby leading his pack
His eyes - how they twinkled! his dimples how merry
As the goal lamp lit up, as red as a cherry;
Alas, the game was not yet in the bag
As West #43's energy, refused to lag
They stormed Walsh's net, like animals in a zoo
And finally beat the goalie, with goal number two
The KnightHawks will bend, but their spirits won't break
And thus they never made even one more mistake
And the game ended 5-2 - the KnightHawks had won!
And they headed off for Christmas, and all kinds of fun
The team's only regret, as they left the ice
Was that they were missing their friend, the elfish Troy Price
In the room, after the game, a word from the coach
He said he was proud, and offered not one reproach
The player of the game, was the team's goalie
Kaelan Walsh, who'd played the game boldly
But all of the KnightHawks had played a great game
And the coaches took time to praise them by name

And Coach Liam exclaimed, his voice ragged and torn-
Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good morn.
