The Major Atom West London Hawks Seeded A team came through with the GOLD MEDAL in their home town Tourny...
The Hawks did a great job against some strong teams during the round robin portion of the tournament. This included a loss against our rivals the Oakridge Aeros.
The Team once again faced the Aeros after making it through to the Championship game on Sunday.
The game was neck in neck the entire time just as a championship game should be. The second goal and ultimately the goal that would decide the game came from our Defenceman #8 who with his quick thinking saw an opportunity and went in for the killer wrap around on a unsuspecting goalie of the Oakridge Aeros.
Of course, one goal does not make a tournament won, all the players this weekend played with conviction and especially with heart......concentrating on only 3 things which Coach Gibb drove home every game.....sorry....trademarked secrets...
We look forward to the playoffs and aiming towards the Ontario Hockey Federation Championships!
