Happy Friday West London Hawks Family!
I wanted to take a moment and thank everyone for a successful start to the 2024-2025 Hockey Season. September is always a wild month for players, coaches, volunteers, and members of the board. We survived! Now the fun begins! Our kids can focus on enjoying this wonderful sport while working hard on their personal and team goals.
The start of a season is also time to reflect on what is
important about our organization and the sport we all love!
Our families are the pulse of the rink and really make
the action come to life! The players no matter the age look up into the stands
for your support and recognition. It's a special connection that is made. The
scoreboard does not matter. What's important at the final buzzer is our players
enjoyed the game, worked hard, and left the rink with a smile on their faces.
Our amazing coaching volunteers will always have this as priority #1. But they
can't do it alone. Being a West London Hawks Fan comes with the responsibility
to represent our organization in a positive manner both at home and on the
road. This means we are respectful or the referees who give up countless hours
of time so that we can all enjoy this sport. It also means we remain focused on
engaging in a positive manner with opposing fans and families London has the
R-Zone policy that will be enforced ensuring behaviour is monitored and in line
with expectations. I trust that we will have another positive year of West
London leading the way both on and off the ice!
West London Minor Hockey Association is committed to a
safe, welcoming and inclusive hockey environment. As part of that commitment,
we would like to remind everyone of Rule 11 – Maltreatment. This rule looks to
eliminate discrimination, disrespectful and abusive behaviour, and harassment
from the game. In an effort to be proactive this season, we encourage you to
watch this video and discuss it with your children and players. Our code of
conduct, complaints process and incident reporting form can be found on our
website under policies and procedures. We will continue to follow the fair play
codes as outlined by Alliance Hockey and failure to comply with our policies
and/or behaviors that constitute maltreatment will not be tolerated. We would
like to thank everyone in advance for their understanding and for your active
participation in eliminating maltreatment from minor hockey.
