Tryout and Season Information
Dear Families,

I would like to share some key information about the tryouts and the season.

Try-out Process: Non-parent evaluators have been selected to assist me during tryouts, to provide input and ensure a fair process.

Once registration closes, I will post a list of players and their tryout time for the September 7th skate. Players that advance through the tryout process will have their names posted on the team website with further instructions regarding ice times.  Players may be released to the Tier 2 tryout process after three evaluations.  The final roster will be made after the 5th or 6th skate.

Note: Please continue to refer to the team website for accurate tryout date/time/location details.

What evaluators will be looking for:

-Attitude
-Coach-ability
-Skill
-Hockey Sense

To better assist myself and the evaluators during the tryout and team selection process I ask that you indicate what position your player is trying out for (goalie, player, forward or defence) prior to the first try out (email or sign in table). This is for tryout and team selection only.  Once the season commences positions will be re-evaluated throughout the season.

I would also like to ensure that every family is aware of the time and financial commitment that comes along with playing competitive hockey.  The team will be on the ice approximately 3 times a week (fluctuates depending on added practices and game schedule). We will be participating in 4 tournaments (with the possibility of 2 more depending on team success- Silverstick Finals and Alliance Championships).  Many of these tournaments will require hotel accommodations which are not included in the fee breakdown below.  Families on the team will also incur fees on top of the registration already paid.  There will be a $375 MD up-charge fee (WLMHA fee), a team fee of approximately $600 /player (this amount is dependent on team fundraising and sponsorships), the opportunity to order team apparel and a $400 team equipment deposit fee.  All families will be asked to participate in the fundraising and sponsorship process.

Good luck to each player. Remember to have fun and try your very best!

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me at [email protected].
