Teams who are not ready to participate in a warm-up period will forfeit their warm-up period and may be subject to delay of game penalties at the discretion of the game

GAME FORMAT DETAILS:

All teams are guaranteed four (4) games.

All Tournament games will be three (3) periods of stop-time hockey (10-10-15). There will be a flood before each game. The Tournament Director reserves the right to curfew games prior to their commencement.

If there is a five (5) goal differential at any time in the third period of a Preliminary Round game, the remainder of that period will be played run-time. Run-time will be used for the remainder

of that game regardless of a subsequent change to the goal differential. The clock will be stopped in case of a delay such as a player injury.

During run-time hockey, three (3) minutes will be served for a minor penalty assessed and seven (7) minutes will be served for a major penalty assessed. If a penalty was assessed during stop-time play and it carries over into run-time, the remaining time of that penalty will not be adjusted.

Two (2) points will be awarded for each WIN and one (1) point will be awarded for each TIE in the Preliminary Round. There will be NO overtime played during Preliminary Round games.

The maximum goal differential which will be recorded for any game is six (6) goals. For example, if the score of a game were 12-2, that game would be recorded in the tournament results as an 8-2 score (reflecting the maximum 6 goal differential).

Each team will be granted one (1) thirty (30) second TIMEOUT during each game of the tournament.

PLAYOFF AND CHAMPIONSHIP GAME QUALIFICATION:

Qualification for play beyond the Preliminary Round into the Playoff games will depend on division format and the number of teams in each division (details below). See the tournament website for format details for each division. Teams losing a Playoff game will be eliminated.

TIE BREAKING FORMULA:

In the event two or more teams are tied in total points for determining playoff positions at the end of the Preliminary Round, the following tie breaking formula will be instituted in order as follows:

1 The HEAD TO HEAD RESULT of the two teams tied (two way ties only).

2 The higher ratio of “(Goals Scored For) / (Goals Scored For + Goals Scored Against)” in

Preliminary Round games.

3 The team with the LEAST AMOUNT OF GOALS AGAINST in Preliminary Round games.

4 Team with the MOST GOALS SCORED FOR in Preliminary Round games.

5 Team who scored the FIRST GOAL, in the Head To Head game.

6 Team with the LOWEST NUMBER of penalty minutes.

7 A COIN TOSS BY THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR.

If any step in the tiebreaker seeds a single team, that team will move on. The sequence of tie breakers will continue to determine the seeding of the remaining teams. At no time will teams using this formula revert back to a 2 team tie breaker (e.g. head to head).

PLAYOFF AND CHAMPIONSHIP GAME PLAY:

The run-time rule based on goal differential will not apply to playoff games. All playoff games will be played with stop-time for the duration of the game regardless of goal differential.

Sudden Victory Overtime will be played, if necessary, in all Playoff and Championship games. If tied after 3 periods of play, Playoff and Championship games will consist of one (1), five (5)

minute stop-time period of four on four (4 on 4) Sudden Victory overtime (where the team who

scores the first goal will win the game). Teams may substitute players freely during the overtime period. If a team receives a penalty the offending team will play shorthanded (4 on 3) for the duration of the penalty. If the same team receives a second penalty which overlaps with the initial penalty, the other team will add another player (i.e. 5 on 3). Teams will revert to four on four (4 on 4) hockey upon the first whistle after the expired penalties.

If the game is not decided at the conclusion of the five (5) minute overtime period, a three (3) player shoot-out will take place. The team that scores the MOST goals during this three (3) shooter round of the shoot-out will win the game.

If the teams are still tied at the conclusion of the first shootout round, single shooter sudden victory shootout rounds will take place until one team has scored a goal in a round where the other team has not scored. A player may not shoot again until all players on each team (excluding goalies) have had an opportunity to shoot. Goalies can be exchanged at any time during overtime or the shootout. Any remaining timeouts cannot be taken during the shootout.

Team and individual awards will be presented to the Tournament Champions and

Tournament Finalists. Awards will be presented to PLAYERS ONLY.
