2020/21 Season Updates
The upcoming hockey season, although new and different, is approaching very quickly.  The season start date will be October 12, 2020.  The Ontario government made amendments this week to "Unmonitored" activities and gatherings in Ontario.  Please note that we are considered "Monitored" activities and these recent updates to not affect our current return to play program.

The week of Sept 21-25, our MD coaches will meet to review the return to play protocol and finalize the MD cohorts.  After this process has been completed, each and every member of these cohorts will be notified and schedules will become public and available for the families.

The following week the house league and IP cohorts will be finalized and a coaches meeting will be held to review the return to play protocol.  Once this meeting is complete, each and every family will be notified of the cohort they have been assigned, so the families are able to set up the team calendars and be notified of ice schedules.

This will be a very different season with challenges that we are trying to work through to accommodate everyone as best we can.  Some of the changes we will be experiencing are:
  • One spectator per player allowed in viewing area
  • Masks mandatory entering in and exiting out of our arenas
  • Sanitizing hands upon entry and exiting of arena
  • All teams will require volunteers to track COVID-19 protocols per team
  • Families are asked to bring players dressed as often as possible to minimize time spent in our arenas
  • A contact tracing app will be rolled out shortly. Families will be required to enter information into the app, prior to the ice time or complete a paper copy at the door.
Please work with your team manager and coach to assist in all updated team protocols.

The final details surrounding the protocols for entering and exiting the arena will be developed over the next two weeks and we ask for everyone's patience.  We know the new protocols will have some imperfections we will need to correct.  This is a learning process for everyone so we appreciate everyone's process as we navigate through the unknown.

To make this a great year we will need everyone to assist where they can and tie an extra pair of skates, organize players entering and exiting the arena or just share a positive attitude. We as a community can ensure the players have the most fun possible and in the end, this is all we are trying to accomplish!

Thank you Hawkey families and let's make this a great year for all the young Hawks!
