There are only a couple of weeks remaining until the start of the season! My name is Sean Joiner and I am excited to be selected to coach the Minor Peewee MD team this season. I am looking forward to a lot of exciting moments and seeing the kids develop their hockey skills!
The evaluation schedule has been posted. Our first evaluation is Tuesday September 3 at 6:30pm at Bostwick B. As they approach, a few details to make note of:
1) Everyone will be given a fair evaluation as there will be non-parent evaluators at every session. Skating ability, teamwork, & coachability are some main traits I will be looking for in players for the team.
2) Releases will occur after the 3rd skate and players moving forward will be posted on the website. We will have a team made of 2 goalies, 6 defencemen, & 9 forwards. I may ask players to try different positions than what has been indicated on the tryout registration form.
3) Any feedback requested (
[email protected]) will be responded to in a timely manner.
The Minor Peewee MD team will be participating in the following tournaments:
Ottawa Capital Volunteer Cup - October 25-27, 2019
St. Thomas Boston Pizza Cup - November 15-17, 2019
Brantford Wayne Gretzky International - December 27-30, 2019
West London Competitive - January 17-19, 2020
I am looking to a successful year both on and off the ice and can't wait to get the season started!
