Peewee B6 Hawks go undefeated to claim tournament crown
The whole was greater than the sum of its parts – and the parts were pretty darn good to begin with – as the West London Hawks went 5-0 to win the Jake Marczenko Memorial Tournament's 10-team peewee division in Dorchester.

Team captain Tyson led the Major Peewee B6 squad off the ice and on, scoring a whopping 11 goals and setting the tone game after game. EvanM scored five times, including three that stood up as game-winners, and EricC netted a trio of goals. Others adding to the impressive scoring surge were EvanB, Austin, Ryan, Jack and Camden.

But the goaltending was just as impressive, with Tyler and Carter combining for two complete-game shutouts and Tyler keeping the scoreboard clear throughout the first half of the championship game, which ended as a 6-2 win. Tenacious forechecking, particularly on the penalty kill, was led by Ty, Colton and Charlie. They won almost every board battle throughout the semifinal and final to stifle the players on two impressive teams.

D pairs of EvanB-Jake, Austin-Ryan and Trevor-Mike were dominant in their own end and sparked several goals with their sharply aggressive play in the attacking zone.

After a slow start to the regular season, the tournament win – as complete a team effort as you’re likely to see – looks like a breakthrough for the Hawks.
