2017-18 Major Novice Tier I Tryouts
Since we are only a few days away from the start of the Major Novice Tier I tryouts, I would like to provide you with some additional information with regards to what to expect from this year’s tryout process.

Tryouts will consist of a total of five (5) ice times beginning 6:00pm on September 5th at Nichols Arena. Please refer to the team tryout schedule located on the Hawks website for the remaining tryout times. The first three (3) tryouts will consist of skating and puck drills, with some time set aside for scrimmages. Following the third skate (September 8th), the first round of releases will be made and posted on the team website. The remaining players will participate in an intersquad game and an exhibition game to finish off tryouts. The final team selections will be made following our September 11th exhibition game and will be posted on the team website no later than 8pm on September 12th.

Each player will be assigned a jersey for the duration of tryouts. There will be a list posted on the dressing room doors indicating each players assigned number; please review this list and find your child's jersey in the dressing room. All jerseys will be collected following each practice, so please place the jersey back on the hanger for ease of collection.

As you are likely aware, the 2009 year has historically had low registration numbers. This year is no different, therefore in order to ice a Tier I and Tier II team, I anticipate reducing the size of the Tier I team.

I would like to wish all players the best of luck with tryouts. Remember, regardless of the results, keep working hard and having fun each and every time you go to the rink.

If there are any questions during the tryout process, please do not hesitate to contact me by phone, email or stop me at the rink and I will do my best to answer your question.

I hope you have a safe and enjoyable long weekend and I look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday.
