Hawks Lose Shoot-Out Game 11-7
The Hawks lost an old-fashioned shoot-out Sunday night 11-7 at Kinsmen Arena. The visiting Bandits A4 put up a two goal lead in the game's first minute and never looked back. That said, while the Bandits had a 5-0 lead by the halfway mark of the first, the Hawks never gave up and closed the gap repeatedly to make the finish respectable.

By the end of the first period, the score was 7-3 for the Bandits, as the Hawks had their own run and gun shift with the line of Owen Worby, Theo Enns, and Jacob Bamford scoring three goals in 17 seconds, which must be a new Hawks' record. Enns had a good night offensively, completing a hat trick in the third period with a beautiful wrist shot to the top corner and picking up a nice assist on a goal by Worby, who added three assists to his own point total on the night.

Player of the game Trevor Commanda also had a multi-point game, picking up a goal on a lovely feed from Worby and chipping in an assist. Commanda also worked hard in his own end and took several shifts at centre between Zach Read and Owen Verberne on a line that proved scrappily effective as it was with that combination that Verberne picked up two goals.

On defense, unfortunately, it was a rough night for the Hawks as they failed to contain the Bandits' big three of Jared Kuiken, Caeden Edwards, and Justice Smith-Hilton, who combined for all 11 of the Bandits' goals. Too often, the Hawks allowed the three Bandits' snipers to have open shots on goaltender Brendan Walsh who got shaken up early and had trouble finding his groove in the face of the Bandits' onslaught.  The three Bandits snipers repeatedly taunted the Hawks' bench and the team celebrated like it had won the Stanley Cup after each goal - something the Hawks will remember the next time they face Bandits A4.
