Minor PeeWee MD West Alliance Finalists
The West London Minor PeeWee MD Hawks wrapped up the 2013-14 season as MD West Alliance Finalists.

In a very close play-off versus the Bandits Orange, the Hawks pushed the regular season champions to a third and deciding game in the first to four point championship series.

Game one saw the Hawks overcome a two goal deficit to win 3-2 on strong goal tending by Preston Swan-Merrison and a game winning goal by Josh English.

Game two back at the Hawks home rink, Kinsmen, saw the Bandits rebound and win 3-1.  A solid performance in net by Matthew Govier and a beautiful goal by Jaden Goodchild were just not enough on this night.

Game three would decide the ultimate winner.  The game was tied 0-0 with less than four minutes to play when the Bandits capitalized on a power play late in the third period.  Following a time-out, with the goalie pulled, the Hawks executed a perfect draw in the Bandits end.  A face-off win followed by a point shot through traffic by Jack Howley was gloved by the Bandits goalie to conserve the one goal lead.  An eventual empty net goal spelled the end of the Hawks play-off run.

The West London Hawks Minor PeeWee MD team wishes to congratulate the Bandits Orange on their West Alliance Championship and looks forward to meeting them again at the Alliance Championship in St. Catharines next month.

The coaches couldn’t be prouder of the boys and the effort they displayed.

Another great year!
