Gender Identity and Gender Expression training
Hello Parents and Players,

The Ontario Hockey Federation and Alliance Hockey have mandated Gender Identity and Gender Expression training for all players and parents. Last year coaches and administration staff received the training and this year the training is being rolled out to players and their parents.

Ontario Hockey set up several presentation sessions to ensure that everyone is given an opportunity to participate in the training. The sessions are set up for a player and one parent. Every effort has been made to set these sessions on dates that teams are not otherwise occupied with games or practices. Please pick a date and time that works best for you. PLEASE NOTE: there are two different sessions. The 6:00pm presentations are for players who are participate from IP-Atom and the 7:00pm presentation is for players who participate from Minor Peewee to Juvenile. Please pick the correct time.

Space is limited. You will be contacted directly if your preferred time slot is full.

Alliance Hockey requires us to submit an audit of players and parents who attend the sessions. You will be asked to sign in when you get to the session. Please ensure that you sign in.

The training session will be presented by Leanne Powell of the London-Middlesex Health Unit. Leanne Powell is a public health nurse working at the Middlesex-London Health Unit in the area of Sexual Health. Leanne is actively involved with communities to help improve access and equity. Leanne has been involved with partnering with others, listening to community’s needs, developing resources for communities and health providers and has participated in research. She is committed to working with community partners to make positive changes for the LGBT2Q+ communities.

All presentations are at Fanshawe College. Parking is free.  Please visit this link to register for the presentation.
